NM Child Care Providers Say ‘Yes’ to AFSCME Approximately 2,600 family child care providers statewide can now speak with one powerful voice after voting to join Child Care Providers Together (CCPT)/New Mexico, an affiliate of AFSCME Council 18. Ohio Child Care Providers Ratify First Contract Nearly 8,000 in-home child care providers in Ohio have ratified their first AFSCME contract, guaranteeing union recognition, establishing a grievance procedure, and giving in-home child care providers new rights on the job. Quality First! Early childhood initiative in Arizona Quality First! is a brand new but very important coalition to improve early care in Arizona funded by First Things First. In November of 2006, Arizona voters passed prop 203 overwhelmingly as a citizens initiative to quality early childhood development and health.
