 State Workers Rally for Pension Benefits in New Jersey AFSCME members representing four councils created a sea of green T-shirts among 6,000 state workers who rallied recently in front of the New Jersey Statehouse in Trenton. They were calling on legislators to pass Gov. Jon Corzine's (D) $31-billion budget plan. The budget would put $1.3 billion into the state's public employee pension fund after nearly a decade of neglecting its pension obligation.
