Veronica Montgomery-Costa – New York, New York Veronica Montgomery-Costa Elected for three consecutive terms as president of the 125,000-member District Council 37, Montgomery-Costa joined New York Local 372 in 1974 as a substance abuse prevention and intervention specialist and assumed leadership of the local in 1999. She successfully lobbied in Albany for the passage of such bills as mandatory school breakfast programs across the state. She is currently serving as a member of the city’s Municipal Labor Committee. Elected International Vice President in 2008. |
